Ghost Detector - Ghost Radar Privacy Policy

 Ghost Detector Privacy Policy

Effective: September 27, 2026
App: Ghost Detector (Android)
Package: com.ghostdetector.radar.simulator

1. Overview

Ghost Detector ("the app," "we," "us") is a paranormal-detection entertainment app that turns your phone's sensors — camera, microphone, magnetometer, and motion sensors — into tools like an EMF scanner, EVP recorder, spirit box, thermal scanner, and ghost radar.

This policy explains what information the app collects, what stays only on your device, and how the advertising and analytics services we use handle data. It applies to the Ghost Detector Android app and this page only, not to any other app or website.

2. Information We Collect

Most of what Ghost Detector does happens entirely on your device:

  • Scan results & history (EMF, thermal, ghost radar, spirit box, aura, EVP, camera-scan readings) — stored on-device only, in the app's local database.
  • Camera & microphone (live preview frames, photos, EVP audio recordings) — processed and saved locally, never uploaded by us.
  • Photos & media (saved scan snapshots, wallpapers you set from the app) — written to your device's media storage.
  • Device & usage data (device model, OS version, app version, screens viewed, crash reports) — collected via Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics.
  • Advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID, ad interaction events) — collected via Google AdMob & Meta Audience Network.
  • Purchase status (whether you've bought "Remove Ads") — handled entirely by Google Play Billing.
  • Push notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token) — used to deliver app notifications.

We do not collect location data. Ghost Detector never requests GPS or network location permission — the app's "radar" and "detector" tools run on the magnetometer, camera, and microphone only, not on where you are.

3. Permissions on Your Device

Android asks you to approve these permissions before the matching tool works. You can review or revoke any of them at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → Ghost Detector → Permissions.

  • Camera — Camera Scanner and the live spirit-detector overlay. Frames are analyzed on-device and are not uploaded.
  • Microphone — EVP Recorder. Audio is recorded to a local file you control; we don't listen to or transmit it.
  • Photos / media & storage — Saving scan snapshots, EVP recordings, and setting a ghost photo as your wallpaper.
  • Vibration — Haptic feedback when a scanner detects activity. No data involved.

4. How We Use Information

  • Run the detection tools and keep your scan history available inside the app.
  • Diagnose crashes and fix bugs, using Crashlytics reports.
  • Understand which features are used so we can improve them, using aggregated analytics.
  • Show ads that keep the free version supported, and remember your purchase if you buy "Remove Ads."
  • Deliver optional app notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging.

5. Advertising & Third-Party SDKs

Ghost Detector uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy — we don't control how they process data beyond what we send them.

  • Google AdMob — in-app ads (banner, interstitial, native, app open). Policy: policies.google.com/technologies/ads
  • Meta Audience Network — ad mediation partner. Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy
  • Firebase Analytics — in-app usage analytics. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Firebase Crashlytics — crash & stability reporting. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notifications. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Firebase Remote Config — feature and ad-placement configuration. Policy: firebase.google.com/support/privacy
  • Google Play Billing — processing the "Remove Ads" purchase. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Google Play In-App Update — prompting you to update the app. Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, a consent form appears on first launch so you can choose whether ads are personalized. You can reopen this choice at any time from Settings.

6. Children's Privacy

Ghost Detector is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

7. Your Choices & Data Retention

  • Clear your history anytime: Settings → Data → Clear All Data removes every scan record stored on your device.
  • Uninstalling the app deletes all locally stored scans, recordings, and photos along with it.
  • Ad personalization can be limited from the consent form in Settings, or from your device's Google Settings → Ads.
  • Permissions can be revoked individually at any time from Android's app settings; the related tool simply stops working until you re-grant it.

8. Security

Scan history, recordings, and photos are stored in the app's private on-device storage. We use industry-standard practices for anything that does leave your device (such as crash reports and analytics events sent over encrypted connections), but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Because almost all Ghost Detector data lives only on your device, the fastest way to exercise most of these rights is directly in the app: Settings → Clear All Data. For anything handled by our analytics or ad partners, contact us below and we'll help.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll revise the effective date above when we do, and material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
